Imo: APGA candidate pays N12m for governorship form

ABUJA – The former Minister of Interior, Retired Capt. Emmanuel Iheanacho, on Monday in Abuja paid N12 million to pick governorship nomination forms on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Iheanacho picked the forms to contest for Imo governorship office.

The aspirant paid N10 million for the nomination form and N2 million for expression of interest.

Iheanacho, after picking the form, told newsmen that he had been called by his people to contest for the office.

According to him, “I have the capacity to redeem Imo State from its present state and to boost the creativity of Imo entrepreneurs.

“ I think the time has come for technocrats to come and demonstrate what they had done in the private sector in the public sector’’.

He said the state had that was neede for the people to be out of poverty and live a better life.

He promised to offer a paradigm shift and a new direction, to alleviate the suffering of the people of the state by creating wealth and employment opportunities.

The aspirant further promised to create employment for the people, address issues of socio tension and violence, considering the security challenges in the country.

“It is hopeful that Imo is always on the threshold of better days ahead. We need a true leader in the future not a ruler anymore.

“I am still at a loss and wondering widely why our politicians and leaders refuse to engage in politics of meaning, substance and conviction, but always indulge in pulling dynamic and progressive ones down.’’

He said true leaders did not build on what they could gain from the moment, but on what would benefit the people for life.(NAN)
