similar to the dastardly incidents of November 2016 that led to the
leveling of the community with no government redress offered to the
affected community members till date”.
Spaces for Change disclosed that the Chairman of Otodo-gbame community in Eti-osa Local Government Area of the State, Solomon Hennu, informed it of the ongoing demolition and destruction.
“Honorable Solomon Hennu, the Chairman of Otodo-gbame community in Eti-osa Local Government area of Lagos State informed S4C a few minutes ago, of ongoing demolition and destruction of property in the community by military police officers, mobile police officers, and soldiers.
“We enlist your quick action to forestall escalation of the damage to citizenry by advocacy, publicity pressure and other strategies.
“We also need collaboration on strategies to prevent a united front to tackle finally the menace of flagrant disregard of constitutional rights of citizens and breach of due process by government agencies when combating urban development challenges.
“What follows is a notice of destruction that mirrors yet again, man’s inhumanity to man,” Aizighode Obinyan said.
