Awka – FC IfeanyiUbah of Nnewi on Sunday got back to winning ways when they battled to a 3-2 win against visiting El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the win was at the FC IfeanyiUbah International Stadium in a Week 14 game of the 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Prince Aggreh opened scoring for the home side in the 19th minute, after utilising a rebound from a powerful shot by Godwin Obaje.
The visiting team continued to keep the Anambra Warriors’ attacking line of King Osanga, Seka Pascal and Obaje at bay until Aggreh struck again in the 29th minute.
However, the visitors who came into the second half with a 2-0 deficit fought like wounded lions to get a breather in the 59th minute.
Lucky Erimaya’s powerful low drive to the bottom left stunned the enthusiastic crowd as the visitors reduced the deficit.
The visiting Warriors equalised in the 82nd minute when Mathias Samuel headed home a cross from Ibrahim Babangida.
Ifeanyi Onuigbo who came in for Aggreh restored the Anambra Warriors’ lead when he converted a penalty kick after a foul on Osanga in the third minute of added time.
