* IGP rushes to NASS for explanations

Abuja (Sundiata Post) — Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriation, Danjuma Goje, on Wednesday, declared that the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) made away with the 2017 Budget during its invasion of his residence.
Goje, who raised the alarm at the plenary, added that the officials of the Force, who invaded his house last week, carted away laptops and documents that had the processed 2017 Budget earlier scheduled to be laid on the floor of the Red Chamber.
Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, was summoned to meet with the Senate leadership over Police raid, and the 2017 Budget.
Idris was specifically directed to meet with the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.
Led by the Special Adviser to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Ita Enang, Idris was seen rushing into the National Assembly.
Meanwhile, Goje is reported to have told the meeting tells that six files and one laptop containing documents relevant to the 2017 Budget, N18 million and $12,000 were seized by the Police.
