NGO to assist 34,000 Nigerians in health, other issues

Lagos   –    NA Non Governmental Organisation, Aspire Coronation Trust (ACT) Foundation, on Friday announced over 34,000 Nigerians would benefit from its 2017 grant.

In a statement issued in Lagos, Mr Osayi Alile, The Chief Executive Officer of ACT Foundation, Mr Osayi Alile, said this in a statement issued in Lagos.

Alile said that the organisation would provide grant through other organisations benefit people in the areas of health, entrepreneurship, environmental management and leadership.

According to Alile, the 2017 ACT Foundation grant aims at mitigating health problems such as malaria and various forms of cancers including breast, cervical and prostrate cancers.

He said that it also focused on maternal and child health issues especially on infant and young child feeding.

He said in the area of leadership the focus would be on thought and youth leadership while in environment the focus would be on waste management.

The chief executive officer said that for entrepreneurship, the focus would be on skill acquisition and financial literacy.

“Our desire to change the world cannot be done by us alone.

“So, we have selected 23 deserving non-profit organisations to partner with us to achieve our aim of creating positive social impact in our world.

“We are assured that our collaboration with these organisations will help in creating the change we desire,” Alile stated.

He stated that over 300 non-governmental organisations applied for the grant but 23 with good proposals were selected as recipients of the 2017 ACT Foundation grant.

Alile noted that the foundation started operation this year and would limit its focus to only the western part of the country.

The chief executive officer said this was to ensure effective and efficient implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the projects.

The New Agency of Nigeria reports that ACT Foundation is a non-profit organisation established to support local, national and regional non-profits to address challenges and associated vulnerabilities in Africa.
