Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Alhassan, on Wednesday attended the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting despite the disagreements her open declaration of support for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for 2019 presidency has generated.
The meeting that will be presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari, saw Alhassan around the vicinity at 10:45.am.
Recall that this is the first time the Federal Executive Council meeting is taking place after the Eid-el-Kabir celebration. Last week’s FEC meeting could not hold because, according to the government, the two days public holidays of Friday and Monday did not give room for preparation for FEC meeting.
Alhassan had, in an interview with the Hausa Service of the BBC last week, disclosed her preference for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar against Buhari for the 2019 presidential contest.
