President Buhari Appoints Prof Moji Christianah Adeyeye as New DG of NAFDAC

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed a new Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Dr*g Administration and Control (NAFDAC) .
The new appointee Professor Moji Christianah Adeyeye is to replace the former DG who attained the retirement age of 60 years in September – The new NAFDAC boss is the wife of Senator Olusola Adeyeye (Osun Central) President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Professor Moji Christianah Adeyeye, as the new Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Dr*g Administration and Control (NAFDAC).
Prof Adeyeye who is the wife of Senator Olusola Adeyeye (Osun Central) takes over from Ademola Andrew Magbojuri who was appointed as the Acting DG of NAFDAC in September.
Magbojuri succeeded Mrs. Yetunde Oni, who attained the retirement age of 60 years in September and also served in the acting capacity for 18 months following the sack of Dr. Paul Orhii. Prof Adeyeye is the founder of Dr*gs for AIDS and HIV Patients, a nonprofit organization committed to prevention, education, care and treatment of HIV/AIDS children in Nigeria. The new NAFDAC boss attended the University of Nigeria, obtaining a BSc in pharmaceutics in 1976, and went on to the University of Georgia where she obtained an M.S and a Ph.D. in pharmaceutics in 1985 and 1988.
She is also professor of Pharmaceutics, Manufacturing Science and Dr*g Product Evaluation, College of Phar*acy, Roosevelt University, Schaumburg, IL and Chair, Department of Biopharmaceutical Sciences, College of Pha*macy, Roosevelt University, Schaumburg, IL. and the Chief Executive Officer of Elim Pediatric Pharmaceuticals Inc.
the acting director general of NAFDAC, Mrs Yetunde Oni was removed due to the demands of workers in the agency. The workers who had gone on strike clamored for the exit of Yetunde Oni and on Thursday, September 28, following a directive by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), she was retired. The SGF approved Mrs. Oni’s ‘immediate retirement’ in a letter by R.P. Ugo, a permanent secretary in the office of the SGF.
