EPE (Lagos) – Two projects – – an ICT skills acquisition centreand a three-classroom block with staff room — were on Saturday inaugurated in Epe, Lagos State.
The ICT centre equipped with 100 desk top and lap top computers and the classrooms built at Agbowa and Ilara-Epeare part of the constituency projects executed by Rep. Lanre Odubote.
Inaugurating the projects, the traditional ruler of Ilara, Oba Akeem Adesanya, andOba Aderibigbe Asummoof Odu-Ayandelu, lauded Odubote’s contributions toeducation in the area.
“It is a testimony to the age-long saying that he that opens a school gate has closed the gates to the prison.
“The lawmaker has done so well in uplifting education in the area … his impact will be felt even many years after he might have left office,”Adesanya said.
In his comment, Asuumo urged political leadersto look well before choosing the people to represent the various constituencies.
Another monarch, Godfrey Adekoya Odusanya, the Olofin Ajaye of Orugbo, also commended Odubote and the lawmaker representing Epe Constituency ll in the State House of Assembly, Segun Olulade, who was also present at the event, for executingpopulist projects.
“Odubote and Olulade have proved that certain things are possible.”
Speaking on behalf of students of the Michael Otedola College of Primary Education, where Odubote had earlier donated an e-Library with 110 laptops, the Student Union President, Olusola Akinwande,also commended the lawmaker for his contributions to education in the area.
Also speaking, an APC leader in Epe Alhaji Seriki Akanni- Bamu, urged the youths and pupils to make a good use of the facilities provided.
Earlier, Odubote had said his passion for education was hinged on his belief that the only thing that could take a people out of poverty is quality education.
Odubote said he had provided freeJAMB questions and answers from 1978 to 2012, 400 school benches and chairs and 20 desk and chairs for teachers in Agbowa Junior High School.
The Epe Federal Constituency representative urged the people to continue to defend democracy for more dividends.
Odubote promised to continue to provide quality representation and attract more development to the area. (NAN)
