PORT HARCOURT (Sundiata Post) – Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike on Wednesday commissioned the Law Faculty Complex of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology and the strategic Iloabuchi-Eagle Island road in Port Harcourt.
Commissioning the Law Faculty Complex, Wike assured students of the faculty that his administration would ensure that they have access to the best legal education available.
He said that his administration remained committed to the promotion of professional education.
The governor added that all promises made to the people of the state during electioneering campaigns would be fulfilled.
He explained that he resolved to complete ongoing abandoned projects in the state because state resources have already been expended, noting that completion would serve the interest of the people.
The governor directed that the process for the completion of two projects, the building of the Faculty of Management Sciences and that of Environmental Sciences be kick-started.
He said : “Let me make one thing clear. I will not make a promise that I will not keep.”
He charged the staff and students of the Faculty to ensure that they maintain the new complex.
The new Law Faculty Complex has a 1200-seater auditorium, an electronic and manual library, moot courts, offices and classrooms.
Performing the commissioning exercise of the Iloabuchi-Eagle Island road, Wike said the administration had to complete the road because of its strategic importance of linking Eagle Island to the rest of the city.
He commended the residents of the area for collaborating with the contractors to complete the road in record time.
