AKURE – The Ondo State Police Command, has deployed 10,000 personnel to maintain security during the April 11 election in the state.
The Commissioner for Police Mr Isaac Eke, who made the disclosure on Friday in Akure in a statement issued to newsmen, said the personnel would be deployed to all nooks and crannies of the state.
He said the police had received information on the training of thugs to disrupt the poll by attacking security men and INEC officials.
He warned those planning such attack to have a rethink and retrace their steps.
Eke said that that `highly placed’ politicians would not be allowed into polling units with police escort.
The commissioner said that there would be security surveillance in all areas of the state prone to violence and thuggery.

He reiterated the command’s commitment to ensure that everyone was treated equally and urged the people to be peaceful throughout the period of the election.
He warned that the police would deal with anyone arrested contravening the electoral laws. (NAN)
