Igali attributed the delay in the completion of the project to the kidnapping of the French national handling the project.
He said that the transmission line for the evacuation of the power to be produced was ready through the Transmission Company of Nigeria.
Igali said that government was committed to ensuring smooth running of this pilot scheme which it planned to replicate in the entire northern region.
He said that government had put in place measures to check the menace of power infrastructure vandalism across the country.
The permanent secretary appealed to communities and new owners of power facilities to expose activities of vandals.
He said that the harnessing of wind resource was an integral part of the newly approved national policy on sustainable energy and energy efficiency. (NAN)
