13th Anniversary: Lagos Assembly hails Oba Akiolu

Lagos  –   The Lagos State House of Assembly on Tuesday congratulated Oba Rilwan Akiolu of Lagos on the celebration of his 13th year on the throne.

The lawmakers, on the floor of the House, took turns to eulogise the royal father for all his laudable achievements during the period.

The Speaker of the House, Mr Mudashiru Obasa, in rounding up, said that the state had witnessed tremendous development and growth since Akiolu began to reign.

Obasa said that the royal father had worked in harmony with successive state governors to uplift and make the state an enviable one in the country.

According to him, it is also remarkable that oil has been discovered in the state during his reign.

The House passed a resolution to send a congratulatory letter to the royal father, while the speaker would lead a delegation of lawmakers to pay homage to him.

The lawmakers, at the sitting, also commiserated with the family of Oba Abdulganiyu Oloto, the Oloto of Oto, who joined his ancestors on May 18.

The House also commended Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode for the successful presidential visit and inauguration of some projects in the state on Monday.

The lawmaker lauded Ambode for his concern for the security and welfare of residents.

NAN recalls that the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, had represented President Muhammadu Buhari at tge inauguration of some projects in Lagos on Monday. (NAN)
