Abuja (Sundiata Post) – 15 members of the All Progressive Congress (APC), members elect of the Plateau State House of Assembly, have condemned in strong terms the brutal killings of over 200 persons in Bokkos Local Government Area of the State during the Christmas Eve celebration. https://sundiatapost.com/philanthropist-kefiano-decry-plateau-attacks/
Describing the attack as barbaric, callous and reprehensible the yet to be sworn-in lawmakers called on the three tiers of government to come up with a workable template that will bring to an end the needless bloodbath in the State.
The caucus who jointly spoke in a statement signed by the former Speaker of the 9th Assembly, Hon. Yakubu Sanda Yackson called on security agencies to adopt a different method of policing the affected areas as the already existing one is no longer working. https://sundiatapost.com/plateau-attacks-even-countries-at-war-not-experiencing-level-of-killings-in-nigeria-peter-obi-laments/
They tasked security agencies to go after the killers of the innocent and defenseless people and bring them to justice, so as to serve as a deterrent to others.
“We appeal to Governor Caleb Mutfwang to summon the courage to implement previous reports of Inquiry which indicted some individuals in the crisis on the Plateau, this will discourage others who collaborate with these undesirable elements to perpetrate this heinous crime and other criminalities.
“We also commiserate with the government and the people of Plateau State over the great loss and urged the three tiers of governments to provide relief materials to the survivors in order to give them succor.
“We however, commend President Bola Tinubu for dispatching the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, the National Security Advisor, Nuhu Ribadu and Service Chiefs, to visit the affected communities.
“We implore the President not to rest on his oars until the killers are brought to justice”, the statement reads.
They lauded the National Assembly caucus of the APC, including the immediate past governor of the State, Sen. Simon Lalong, for their contributions to proffer solutions to the attacks.
