ABUJA- Salihu Kolo, the first Vice-Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Football Association, says 16 teams will be competing in the 2025 FCT President Cup in Abuja.
The competition which would involve both men and women would kick off on Feb. 3.
Kolo made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Abuja after the draw at the Old Parade Ground, Area 10, Abuja.
“Today, we did the draw for the FCT 2025 President Cup for both the men and women competition.
“The competition will feature 14 teams in the men’s category, including 11 clubs and three academy teams and two teams in the women’s category,” he said.
Kolo identified the teams competing in the men’s category as the EFCC FC (defending champions), Sporting Supreme FC (runners-up), Dazzler FC, Legacy Stars FC and Derby Academy.
Others are; Galadima FC, Burnaboy Academy, Milantarki FC, FWC Champion FC, Setraco FC, and Access FC.
Also included are; Like Minds FC, N Youth Academy and Hybissuer Academy.
According to the vice-chairman, the two teams competing in the women’s category are Naija Ratel FC and N Youth Ladies.
He said the winning teams would represent the FCT at the 2024/2025 President Cup.
Kolo added that the three-week competition would run from Feb. 3 to Feb. 23.
He assured of adequate security for spectators and participants adding that any team that commits any infringement would be sanctioned by the association. (NAN)
