LAGOS – No fewer than 18 ships have arrived at Lagos ports with petroleum products and food items, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), said in Lagos on Friday.
This is contained in the NPA’s daily publication, `Shipping Position’ and made available to newsmen.
According to the document, 11 of the ships laden with petrol, kerosene, diesel and base oil will sail into the various oil terminals.
It stated that the remaining ships arrived with food items like rice, frozen fish, buckwheat and bulk sugar.
The document also showed that 76 ships were expected to sail into the ports from Nov. 28 to Dec. 20.
It pointed out that 32 of the expected ships would arrive at the ports with containers, while 17 others would sail in with rice, bulk malt, buckwheat, crude palm oil, bulk sugar and frozen fish.
According to the document, 11 ships are to sail in with general cargo and nine others with petroleum products.
It noted that the remaining two ships would arrive with vehicles. (NAN)
