2 Die As Female Suicide Bomber Attacks Military Quarter Guard In Gombe (news and feature on homepage)
Two people are reported to have died in Gombe, capital of Gombe State Sunday after an explosive device went off prematurely, sources say.
The Gombe Governor’s House was attacked during the week as “Massive explosions” rocked the building killing two soldiers and six others injured.
Another attack is suicide attack is said to have been carried out by a female suicide bomber who hadn’t arrived at her destination before the bomb went off.
A top security source tells TheCable, the dead were a soldier and the suicide bomber — a woman — who was “scattered” by the blast . “The explosion occurred at about 11am along Military Quarter Guard along Biu Road in Gombe,” the source said. “The woman had the explosive in her bag, but the thing went off prematurely. She was scattered by the explosion. Unluckily, she got a soldier as well.”
Gombe state has come under deadly attacks in recent times and the suicide attack in the state will be the first to be carried out by a woman.
