Two persons have died in Ikire, headquarters of Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State following a clash between Odua People’s Congress (OPC) and Odua People’s Congress Initiative (OPCI).
The Nation gathered that a supremacy fight started on Saturday, culminating in the death of two persons.
OPC coordinator in the state Prince Deji Aladeshawe confirmed the incident.
“The incident is true, one Olayode was killed on our side while one Wasiu was killed on the side of OPCI,” he said.
Special Adviser to Osun State Governor on Security, Mrs Abiodun Ige said the state government has intervened in the matter with the help of the police.
According to her, “The state government is working in collaboration with the police on the matter, the state government is monitoring what is happening in the place. We believe everything will be fine. The situation is calm for now,” she said.
