Lagos – Two men, Moses John and James Kadi, on Friday, appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly attempting to dispossess some people of their belongings.
John, 20, and Kadi, 21, whose addresses were not provided, are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and attempt to steal.
The prosecutor, Insp Victor Eruada, told the court that the accused committed the offences with one person at large on Aug. 9, at Somide Ojudurin Ave., Omole Phase 2, Lagos.
Eruada said the accused were caught while trying to dispossess people in the neighborhood of their possessions.
He said the accused were apprehended by the security guard and handed them over to the police.
The offences contravened Sections 411 and 406 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The accused, however, entered a not guilty plea.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs M.I. Dan-Oni, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in like sum.
Dan-Oni adjourned the case until Sept. 11 for mention.
