Ado-Ekiti, – Two men, Adeyemi Ojo and Ojo Ajibola, were on Wednesday docked at an Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court
for allegedly receiving stolen phone. The accused — Ojo, 26, and Ajibola, 26 — are facing a charge of receiving stolen phone.
The accused committed the offence on Sept. 26 at Fayose Market in Ado-Ekiti, according to the Police Prosecutor Oriyomi Akinwale.
He alleged that the men received a stolen phone from Alabi Ayodeji in contravention of Section 430 of the Criminal Code, Laws of
Ekiti State 2012.
Insp. Akinwale asked for an adjournment to enable him to study the case file and assemble his witnesses.
The duo pleaded not guilty and their lawyer, Mr Olatunde Olayemi, urged the court to grant them bail, promising they will not
jump bail.
Ruling on the bail application, Magistrate Modupe Afeniforo granted the accused bail in the sum of N20,000 each with two sureties
each in like sum.
She adjourned the case until Nov. 19 for hearing.
