Lagos – Two unemployed men, Akeem Hamzat, 26, and Ifeanyichukwu Inneh, 21, were on Friday arraigned before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court for alleged armed robbery.
The accused were docked on a two-count charge bordering on armed robbery and stealing.
The prosecutor , Cpl Kemi Adeniran, told the court that the accused committed the offences on Feb. 16, at 9.30p.m, at Oduola Road in Ikorodu, Lagos.
”One Olamilekan Ajai was dispossessed of his Bajaj Motorcycle with registration number PKA 734 QF valued at N180,000 by the two accused with a knife,” she said.
She said the offences of the accused are punishable under Sections 409 and 295(I) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2011.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge levelled against them.
The Magistrate, Oshodi Makanju granted the accused N100, 000 bail each with two responsible sureties in like sum.
She said ”the sureties must be gainfully employed and must have their tax receipts verified by the court’s officers”.
The case has been adjourned till April 14 for trial.(NAN)
