OKITIPUPA (ONDO STATE) – Two men, 25-year-old electrician, Ayanfe Akinsowon, and 29-year-old Isiaka Sulimon, were on Friday arraigned before an Okitipupa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing electric cables worth N150,000.
The prosecutor, Insp. Zedekiah Orogbemi told the court that Akinsowon, on June 20, about 11.49 p.m. went to the premises of Ondo State Water Corporation, at No. 12, Faboye Street, Okitipupa and stole the items.
Orogbemi also said that an accomplice, Sulimon, on June 25, about 2 p.m. at Hospital Road, Okitipupa received the cables from Akinsowon, “knowing fully-well that it was a stolen good.’’
The prosecutor said that the offence was contrary to Section 427 of the Criminal Code, Cap.37, Vol.1, Laws of Ondo State, 2006.
The two accused persons, however, denied the charges.
The Magistrate, Mr Funsho Akintoye, granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 each, and two sureties in like sum, and adjourned the case till Dec. 30 for further hearing. (NAN)
