Badagry (Lagos State) – Two unemployed men, Ali Adebisi and Anthony Adewale, were on Friday arraigned for allegedly stealing a cable valued at N15,000.
The accused of unknown address were brought before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos State, on one-count charge of stealing.
The prosecutor, Insp. Innocent Uko, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Feb. 27, at Aradagun area of Badagry.
Uko said that the accused stole the cable from the house of the complainant, one Mr Babatunde Samuel.

“Thinking that no one would be there, the accused persons went to the house of the complainant and removed the cable which was for the satellite dish.
“Before they could take away the cable, the complainant caught them,’’ he said.
Uko said that the offence contravened Section 278 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The Counsel to the accused persons, Mr Bolu Oyedapo, pleaded with the court to grant his clients bail on liberal terms.
In his ruling, the Magistrate, Mr Abiodun Etti, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100, 000 and a surety in the like sum.
Etti said that the surety must provide an evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
The magistrate adjourned the case to May 5 for further hearing. (NAN)
