Sango-Ota – The police on Friday charged two men, Wunmi Akinbowale and Adebisi Kazeem, before an Ota Magistrates’ Court, Ogun, for allegedly breaking into a house and stole valuables worth N1 million.
Akinbowale and Kazeem, are facing a three -count charge of conspiracy, burglary and stealing, offences they denied committing.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Abdulkareem Mustapha, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on April 14, at 12 noon at No. 75 Egan Road, Iyana-Iyesi, Ota.
Mustapha said the defendants broke into the house of the complainant, Mr Emmanuel Ita, and stole a laptop and other valuables worth N1 million.
“The defendants were caught by the security guards and handed over to the police, “he said.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 390(9), 412 and 516 of the Criminal Code Vol. 1, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Mathew Akinyemi, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N400, 000 each, with two sureties each in like sum and adjourned the case until
June 10 for mention.
