LAGOS – A Tinubu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Friday ordered the remand of two men — Yusuf Memud, 27, and Azeez Adisa, 26, for allegedly maiming a man in the eye and stomach.
The accused were remanded for allegedly possessing dangerous arms.
The Magistrate, Mrs Olaitan Ajayi, turned down the application for bail of the accused and ordered their remand, pending advice from the Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

He alleged that the accused persons, who belonged to one of the notorious gangs in Lagos Island, shot one Akeem Baruwa in the eye and on his stomach.
“The gang was just returning from an operation when Baruwa, who was in his car, put on his car’s headlights.
“In annoyance, the men, thinking their cover had been blown, shot sporadically at the occupant of the car.
“It hit Baruwa in the eye, blinding him, and on his stomach.” Ighodalo said.
Members of the gang were later apprehended by the police.
Ighodalo said the offences contravened Sections 45, 51, 166(1) (ii), 228 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. (NAN)
