Lagos – Two unemployed friends, who allegedly broke into a shop and stole some goods valued at N232,000, were on Wednesday brought before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State.
The accused, Tobi Jimoh, 20 and Friday Nwafor,18, who both live at 31, Kelele St., Ijoko in Ogun, are facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, burglary and stealing.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Raji Akeem, told the court that the accused committed the offences on Aug.18 at 2, Aro Omoba Crescent, Ikeja.
Akeem said that the accused broke into a shop owned by Mr Innocent Aniodo at midnight and carted away goods.
“The duo stole 29 pieces of shoes, LG Home Theater and 40 pieces of Chinos trouser, all valued at N232, 000.
“They were caught by the vigilance group on their way home and handed them over to the police,” he said.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 287, 309 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
However, the accused denied committing the alleged offences.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Jadesola Adeyemi-Ajayi, granted each of the accused bail of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
Adeyemi-Ajayi adjourned the case until Oct. 22 for mention.
