ABUJA – The semi-final matches of this year’s Men and Women Federation Cup competitions will take place at the FIFA Goal Project pitch in Abuja, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF)has said.
A statement by NFF’s Head of Communications, Ademola Olajire, on Friday in Abuja said the two matches in the men’s event will be played on Thursday, July 31.
The matches will see Cup holders Enyimba International FC of Aba go up against Giwa FC and Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt taking on Prime FC of Osogbo.
In the women’s event, Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt tackle Delta Queens of Asaba, and Nasarawa Amazons of Lafia face Sunshine Queens of Akure at the same venue on Friday.
Enyimba had stopped Sharks FC of Port Harcourt 2-0 at the quarter-finals stage, also at the FIFA Goal Project pitch, on Wednesday.
Lobi Stars of Makurdi lost 2-4 to Dolphins in Enugu, while Prime FC, the only non-elite division club in the last four, eliminated Gateway FC of Abeokuta on penalties in Kaduna.
Giwa FC also prevailed over Crown FC, following a penalty shootout.
