NFF’s Media Director, Ademola Olajire, has clarified the number of appearances Joseph Yobo has made for Nigeria.

There has been several figures bandied about, as the Super Eagles closes in on a record 100 caps for the country, but Olajire confirmed that the Fenerbahce is now on 98.

“The official figure we have for Yobo is 96 caps after the USA friendly in Jacksonville,” Olajire told KickOffNigeria. “He has now added two more at the World Cup.

“Yobo did not play the game against Lesotho in Warri in 2007, which has been included in his appearances.”

Olajire then went on to praise Yobo’s longevity and said it is exemplary for other players coming up.
