(NWFL), said on Wednesday the 2014/2015 Nigeria Women Football League would begin until after the general elections.
Onyedinma told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that the league could not kick-off on March 31 as earlier scheduled because of the postponement of the general elections.
“I don’t think any league is going to start before the election, because when you start the league, a lot of movement is involved.
“You are either going this way or going that way or these people are coming to you or you are going to the other people.
“And during the elections such thing will not be allowed. So we would not want to put ourselves in that problem of distorted movement.“
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had scheduled the Presidential and National Assembly elections to hold on Feb. 14 and that of the Governorship and State House of Assembly to hold on Feb. 28.
However, on Feb. 7, the commission announced the postponement of the elections to March 28 and April 11 respectively. (NAN)
