ABUJA – Kuje United Football Club of Kuje in the FCT on Saturday defeated city rivals Wazobia FC 1-0 in a Division Two Group E1 Nigeria Nation-Wide League (NNWL) match.
Ibikun Ojo scored the only goal of the week two game played at the Area 3 Sports Complex in Abuja in the 63rd minute.
Wazobia FC however struggled to get an equaliser but lost so many scoring chances.
Raphael Agetu, the coach of Kuje United, while speaking after the match, praised his team for the victory, saying the team had done well.
“I am happy with the performance of my team. The boys have done well.
“Though, we still have so much work to do. So, we will go back home and concentrate on some of the errors in this match.
“That way, my team will next time perform better than this,’’ Agetu said.
On his part, Wazobia FC’s coach, Paul Eze, also appreciated the performance of his team in spite of their loss.
“My boys played well, even though we lost.
“But this is just the beginning of the league season. So, I am sure that we will do better in our subsequent matches.
