ABUJA – Hosts Mark Mentors Basketball Club on Friday in Abuja defeated visiting Nigeria Immigration Service basketball club 86-47 in the ongoing DStv Men’s Premier Basketball League.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Mark Mentors took control of the match the from onset and won the first quarter 25-14.
They went on to hold on to their lead and go into the game’s break 43-24, and allowed their points only 10 points again in the third quarter while scoring 21.
At the end of the match, Peter Ahmedu, coach of Mark Mentors, praised his players for a good outing, saying “it was a very good game, and my boys played to instructions. They worked hard to come out victorious at the end of the league.’’
On his part, Segun Akinbiyi, coach of Immigration, said his players did not live up to expectations.
“It was a serious game, but unfortunately we lost. My players did not perform to expectations, and we missed a lot of shots and throws.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
“We are now going to work on our mistakes. In our next match, our performance will be better,’’ he said.(NAN)
