Abuja – The FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has vowed to disqualify any intending Pilgrim for the 2015 hajj who failed to appear for medical screening.
This is contained in a statement issued by Mallam Muhammad Lawa, the board’s Public Relations Officer, On Wednesday in Abuja.
According to the statement, all intending pilgrims must be screened before embarking on the spiritual journey as directed by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
It said that the board had slated Aug. 8 and Aug. 9 as the last chance for intending pilgrims who could not participate in the exercise in the previous week.
It advised intending pilgrims to avail themselves of the opportunity and attend the medical screening or forfeit their seats.
The statement warned that those who failed to submit their e-passport stood the risk of losing their seats as the board would soon complete visa procurement from the Saudi Arabian embassy.
“The board will soon commence preparation to ensure successful hajj operation and delaying submission of the e-passport will not be allowed to mar the goal of the administration.’’
The statement said that the board had concluded arrangements for the vaccination of intending pilgrims.
“The exercise is expected to be conducted at the permanent hajj camp by 8 a.m. with intending pilgrims from Abaji, Kwali and Gwagwalada Area councils on Aug. 8.,’’ it said
The statement added that intending pilgrims from Bwari, Kuje and Abuja Municipal Area Councils would take their vaccination on Aug. 9.
