The Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwanso, has said all presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2015 elections are better than President Goodluck Jonathan.
He also said he would officially declare his ambition on 28 October as he has finally secured a venue.
According to him, it is wrong for many Nigerians to assume that the APC would split after its presidential primaries.
Among those contesting on the APC platform for president in 2015 are a former Head of State, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari(rtd), a former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and the publisher of leadership newspaper, Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah.
“For people like me who have millions of supporters all over the country, I’m not the type that will be jumping from one party to the other. I can’t go back to the PDP.
“One of us, not two or three, will win the primary. All of us are believe that all our candidates are better that the President. If I didn’t get it, in a free and fair primarily, that is ok. None of us is thinking of leaving the party,” Kwankwaso said.
On President Jonathan being the PDP’s sole candidate for the election, Kwankwaso said “If it was certain that he is the candidate of the PDP, he would have declared long time ago. He keeps on changing the time and dates of his declaration. You know that some people are in court.
“Because he didn’t declare, the court decided to throw the case away. I’m sure that immediately he declares, probably those people will certainly go back to court.”
President Goodluck Jonathan will on November 11 declare his interest to contest the 2015 presidential election.
