Kaduna (Kaduna State)- The Catholic Archbishop of Kaduna, Most Rev. Matthew Ndagoso, said greed and selfishness were among the major problems confronting Nigeria.
Ndagoso identified the problems during the Women Religious Conference with the them: “Consecrated Life in the 21 Century: An African Perspective’’ in Kaduna on Saturday.
According to him, God blessed Nigeria with human and natural resources that could make the nation to stand on its own in the comity of nations, “but we are left behind because of greed and selfishness.
“If the resources can be used for common good of our society, Nigeria would have been developed like other big countries in the world’’, he said.
He called on the nation’s leaders to make the best use of the many resources the country has for the citizens to enjoy from what God has given them.
“I want to see this country where a Muslim will acquire a land and build a Mosque in Anambra and see where a Christian will acquire a land in Sokoto and build a Church’’, he said.
President of the Zaria branch of the group, Sister Doris-Anne David, said the love of God and recognition of His presence had solved problems.
According to her, consecration is not a birth right but a privilege God has extended to His creation.
“We must be grateful to Him for giving us more opportunities than we desired, we should live our lives by thanking Him for all the blessings’’, she added. (NAN)
