Dutse – The Gwaram Local Government Council in Jigawa State says it has screened 92 intending pilgrims to Mecca for the 2016 Hajj.
The Information Officer in the council, Malam Nasiru Yusif, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Dutse.
Yusif said that the screening was part of the preparations to enable the intending pilgrims prepare adequately for the pilgrimage.
According to him, the intending pilgrims were rigorously screened to ensure that only indigenes of the area will make the trip.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]
NAN recalls that the state Pilgrims Welfare Board, had on February 12, announced the commencement of allocation of 1699 seats to pilgrims from the 27 local government areas of the state.
The board also announced that each prospective pilgrim should pay N700, 000 deposit along with an e-passport and 18 passport photographs with white background. (NAN)
