ABUJA – The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Kenyan referee Anthony Ogwayo for the first leg encounter of the Nigeria/Congo fixture in the African U-23 Championship qualifiers.
A statement on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) website on Tuesday said the Kenyan would be assisted by three of his compatriots.
“For the first leg match taking place at the Abuja National Stadium on July 19, Ogwayo will be the Centre Referee.
“Fellow Kenyans Gilbert Cheruiyot, Joshua Achila and Andrew Otieno will be the Assistant Referee 1, Assistant Referee 2 and Fourth Official respectively.
“However, Konate Aboubakar from Cameroon will be the Match Commissioner,’’ it said
The statement added that Egyptian Mohamed Marouf would be the Centre Referee for the return leg match slated for Aug. 2 in Pointe Noire, Congo.

“His fellow Egyptians Mahmoud Abo, Samir Saad and Mahmoud El Banna will be Assistant Referee 1, Assistant Referee 2 and Fourth Official respectively .
“Bernard Mfubusa from Burundi will be the Match Commissioner,’’ it said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the national under-23 male football team overran Gabon and beat Zambia to book a place at the 2015 All-Africa Games (AAG).
The AAG is scheduled for Congo Brazzaville from Sept. 4 to Sept. 19.(NAN)
