Dutse – The Police Command in Jigawa on Thursday said 267 newly-recruited Police constables had been posted to the state.
The command’s Spokesman, SP Abdu Jinjiri, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse.
Jinjiri said that the constables were those recruited during the 2016 police recruitment exercise.
He explained thy were posted to the state after completing their training at the Police Training School, Sokoto.
He said that the constables were all Indigenes of the state, and were posted to their respective local government areas to serve.
According to him, 10 persons were recruited from each of the 27 local government areas of the state during the 2016 recruitment exercise.
The spokesman said the deployment would enhance community policing.
“Posting them back to their state of origin is commendable, as it will enhance community policing since they will serve in their respective local government areas in the midst of their people,” Jinjiri said.
