Gombe Govt, FMB sign MoU on loan to civil servants

Gombe – The Gombe State Government and Federal Mortgage Bank have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enable civil servants in the state to access loans for home renovation.

Speaking at the MoU signing ceremony in Gombe on Tuesday, Dr Daniel Musa, the Head of State Civil Service, said that the bank had brought a new package to the civil servants.

According to him, Gov. Ibrahim Dankwambo, has graciously given approval to the package.

“It is in line with his policies to take care of the workers and this is part of the welfare package of his administration,’’ Musa said.

He said that each worker could access up to one million naira which would attract six per cent interest and payable in five years.

According to him, those that have only one year to retire are not eligible to apply.

Musa advised workers to avail themselves of the loans and put in their best as the state governor was aware of their needs and ready to address them.

Malam Ahmed Bello, the Coordinator of the bank in the state, said that the fund for the loans would be released immediately.

According to him, Gombe State is the highest contributing state in the North East to the National Housing Scheme.
