Ilorin – The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has confirmed that its Taifa Stars would host Nigeria’s Super Eagles at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Sept. 5 from 2.30 p.m.

A statement on Tuesday by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on its website said it learnt this through a mail from the TFF President, Jamal Malinzi.

“The mail also confirmed that the National Stadium has natural grass, and that the match will kick off at 4.30 p.m. Tanzania time (2.30 p.m. in Nigeria),’’ it said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the match is a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match day 2 Group G fixture.

The Super Eagles share joint top place with the Pharaohs of Egypt in the qualifying series, having beaten Chad 2-0 in Kaduna on match day 1 in June.

But the North Africans have a one-goal advantage, having beaten the Taifa Stars 3-0 the same weekend.

NAN recalls that Super Eagles’ head coach Sunday Oliseh currently has 19 home-based players in camp in Abuja, and has also called up 18 overseas-based players.

Meanwhile, the NFF has also confirmed that it has finalised all arrangements regarding the Super Eagles’ movement into and out of Dar es Salaam.
