Tunisia hammered Djibouti 8-1 on Friday evening to begin their 2017 AFCON race on a rather comfortable note.
The Carthage Eagles were 4-0 up in the first half through hat-trick hero, Yassine Chukhaoui and Ferjani Sassi who scored a beautiful solo goal.
Djibouti conceded four more goals in the second half with Saber Khalifa, Fakhreddine Ben Youssef, Maher Hannachi and Yoann Touzghar the scorers.
Mohammed Libane scored Djibouti’s consolation goal from a 54th penalty.
Morocco were 1-0 victors on Friday evening against Libya.
Badou Zaki’s men who were only restored to the 2017 qualifying picture by the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) following a ban by CAF over the 2015 AFCON hosting issues, scored in the 51st minute through Torino midfielder Omar El Kaddouri.
Swaziland also emerged victorious on the opening day of qualifying matches to the 2017 African Cup of Nations.
The team defeated a depleted Guinea 2-1 with goals from Tony Tsabedze who scored a brace in the 13th and 85th minutes.

Guinea had levelled scores in the 69th minute through Francois Kamano but Swaziland were resolute throughout to take all three points at the Complex Mohammed Stadium, Casablanca, Morocco.
Guinea is still under ban to host football games due to the outbreak of Ebola in 2014 in the country.
