Ibadan – Mrs Ifeoma Anidobi, the new Coordinator of the NYSC in Oyo state, has promised to break new grounds and sustain existing cordial relationship between the scheme and its stakeholders in the state.
Mr Simeon Bankole, Head, Public Relations Unit, NYSC in Oyo state, made the statement on Thursday in Ibadan in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Bankole said the coordinator pledged to work closely with traditional institutions to promote excellent community relations.
He quoted Anidobi as saying that she would run open and participatory administration.
According to the spokesman, the coordinator also warned that she would not tolerate lazy and indolent workforce but will reward hardworking personnel.
“She also promised to intensify corps inspection and bring recalcitrant/erring Corps Members to book,” he said.
Bankole said that Anidobi was transferred to Oyo state to rekindle enthusiasm and inject fresh impetus in the state secretariat of the NYSC.
He announced that the pending 2016 batch B stream 11 orientation course programme had been slated temporarily for the fourth week of January, 2017.
NAN reports that Anidobi, who hails from Awka South LGA of Anambra, was the former NYSC Coordinator in Cross River.
She was transferred to Oyo state as the 19th Chief Executive Officer and the ninth female to head the secretariat.
Anidobi, who assumed office on Jan.12, took over from Mrs Olufunmilayo Akin-Moses who had been transferred to Plateau state.
