The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that School of Engineering Technology has 217 and School of Science and Industrial Technology, 621.
Prof Ezionye Eboh, the Acting Rector, said the institution was being taken to a higher level and it had a new portal which would enable the students register courses and access results online.
He, therefore, urged the students to pay their school fees on time, as only students who comply with this directive will enjoy the benefits accruable from the institution’s portal.
“As we deliver on our promises, especially in our drive towards excellence in technology, we will be guided by global best practices.
“In so doing, the graduates of this Polytechnic can raise their heads with pride anywhere in the world,” he said.
Eboh said the school would not tolerate any form of indiscipline by staff and students, adding that an Ethics and Quality Assurance Committee had been put in place to check indiscipline.
He said the committee would also investigate reports of wrongdoings by lecturers, for appropriate action.
On welfare, Eboh assured staff members that the problem of salary arrears would be a thing of the past as the state government had found a way around it.
“ I therefore enjoin you all to work hard to restore the lost glory of the Polytechnic,’’ he said.
He thanked Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu for his the various interventions he made to rescue the institution from total collapse.
