Lagos – The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced Aspall as the official Cider partner for the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 holding from June 1 to June 18 in England and Wales.
Campbell Jamieson, ICC’s General Manager, said on Thursday that the company was partnering with ICC for the first time since it was established in 1728.
He said that Aspall products would be available at the three tournament venues which are the Oval, Cardiff Wales Stadium and Edgbaston.
“On behalf of the ICC, I welcome Aspall as an Official Cider Partner for the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.
“Aspall is a premium brand in the United Kingdom and its decision to partner with the ICC indicates the popularity of 50-over cricket.
“It also reflects how attractive major global events such as the ICC Champions Trophy are to brands.
“Having the ICC Champions Trophy at three iconic locations and involving the top eight-ranked teams together for a short, sharp and prestigious event is really creating a buzz around this year’s tournament.
“The significant number of fans that will attend the tournament is attracting sponsors such as Aspall,’’ Jamieson said on ICC website.
According to the website, Des Smith, CEO of Aspall says the company is pleased to be a new partner of the prestigious event.
“The ICC has a fantastic reputation and high standards and values that we feel align so well with Aspall and what we also stand for.
“We are really looking forward to this partnership,’’ it said.
