Mashi – The Katsina State Government has commended the electorate in Mashi/Dutsi Federal Constituency for their decent conduct during Saturday’s bye-election in the area.
Dr Mustapha Inuwa,the Secretary to the State Government, made the commendation in Mashi on Sunday.
He said government was happy with the conduct of voters before, during and after the election.
The official said that the electorate had demonstrated uncommon courage and determination which led to the peaceful conduct of the election.
“We commend the resilience of the electorate for exercising their franchise with maturity and decency,” he said.
Inuwa also lauded all election stakeholders including INEC, security agencies and the media for adhering strictly to the provisions of the electoral laws during the poll.
NAN reports that Mansur Ali, an aide to Gov. Aminu Masari, won the bye-election into the House of Representatives.
The bye-election was conducted following the death of Sani Bello, the member representing the area.
