Fani- Kayode who further said that to speak truth to power in Africa and stand against tyranny, wickedness, evil and injustice; one must prepare for the worse.
According to him, the noble quest for truth and the righteous fight for justice is a dangerous path to tread in Africa.
The PDP chieftain who disclosed this on Sunday on his twitter handle at realFFK said, “African politics is not a place for the fearful. If u wish to speak truth to power in Africa and stand against tyranny, wickedness, evil and injustice, u must prepare for the worse. The noble quest for truth and the righteous fight for justice is a dangerous path to tread in Africa”.
Sundiata Post recalls that the former minister has not shied away from expressing his views on developments in the polity and has remained a critical vocal voice on some policies and programmes of the APC-led federal government.
Recently, his party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) lamented the alleged attempt by the President Buhari’s government to hound, harass, intimidate and suppress its members into submission by clamping them into detention without charges, saying it remains irrepressible and will not bow to any tyranny.
The party alleged that it has it in good authority that the federal government has perfected plan to incarcerate 50 of its members before the end of this year with a view to using their arrest to deceive Nigerians that the failed anti-corruption war is still on course.
PDP alleged that the job has been handed over to the anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for execution.
