Lagos – Andrew Odoh, Nigeria’s number one ranked professional golfer, on Monday urged the Nigeria Golf Federation (NGF) to provide viable platforms that would enhance the profile of golfers in the country.
Odoh told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that if the golfers are exposed to the right type of competitions in the global golf circuit their rankings would likely improve
“So for now I think one thing they must do is to support players through the federation, support professional players to go out there and play tournaments that carries world ranking points.
“Provide them with coaches so that they can be able to develop themselves and get to the level where they can earn world rankings playing tournaments.
“So they can earn more world ranking points and they themselves recognised in the world ranking, from then on probably get themselves into the Olympics.
“Because that’s the only way right now, because there is no qualification for the Olympics from the way I see it.
