Fulani Herdsmen Killings, NIA DG and Buhari’s Lack of Purposeful Leadership

By Samuel Ajayi

ABUJA (Sundiata Post) Up till now, not a single word directly from the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces over the Benue killings. Rather, Egbon Femi Adesina was reveling us with statistics of those who died during Jonathan era and now. In other words, Fulani herdsmen have not killed “enough”. Even when I know that is not what he meant.
Like I told Olutoyosi Omotoso this morning: (though she told me clearly: “Egbon, na your own you dey talk o”) I HAVE NO ISSUES WITH THOSE WHO PROMOTED BUHARI IN 2015. THEY MADE THEIR DEMOCRATIC CHOICE.
My war is with those who are trying to rationalise these gross leadership inadequacies. They are simply inexcusable. I have tolerated it enough. I won’t again.
Authoritative sources told me more than two months ago that it was an Igbo man that was recommended for the position  of director-general of the National Intelligence Agency,  NIA. It was actually suggested by some members of the President’s kitchen cabinet who still had their brains in the right place. The aim was to douse cries of marginalisation and also help give the president a political leeway into the East. The Igbo man was a career officer who would have perfectly fitted in as he had risen through the ranks.
And in case you don’t know, the man appointed was said to have failed his promotion exams three times and married to a Moroccan.
But lo and behold, the office went to him still, another Northerner, as the cabal had its way again.
And someone will tell me we have a leader who is a man of himself in office?
