Lafia – Gov. Umaru Al-Makura of Nasarawa State has nominated Mr Ahmed Mohammed to the state House of Assembly for confirmation as the chairman of the state’s Board of Internal Revenue Service.
Al-Makura also forwarded the names of Sabo Balarabe Usman, Emmanuel Zakaria and Ali Mohammed as members of the Board.
The House Speaker, Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe-Abdullahi, announced the nominations during plenary on Tuesday in Lafia after the Majority Leader, Tanko Tunga (APC-Awe North) read the governor’s letter at the floor.
“The governor said that the appointment of the chairman and members of the board is to improve on the revenue profile of the state.
“Ahmed Mohammed is nominated as chairman with Sabo Balarabe Usman, Emmanuel Zakaria and Ali Mohammed as members of the Board of Internal Revenue Service,” he said.
Balarabe-Abdullahi directed the Clerk of the Assembly to communicate the nominees to appear on March 14 for screening and possible confirmation.
He said that each of the nominees should submit 24 copies of their curriculum vitae to the assembly. (NAN)
