It’s official: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are married.
In front of around 600 of their closest friends and family at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, Prince Harry and Markle exchanged their vows, said their “I do’s,” and officially became the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. It happened! Meghan Markle and Prince Harry really are married. Months and months of anticipation have led up to this moment.
Kensington Palace made Markle and Prince Harry’s vows public in its Order of Service document. Below, check out what Markle said to Prince Harry before tying the knot:
“I Meghan, take you, Harry, to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward; for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part; according to God’s holy law. In the presence of God I make this vow.”
And here is what Prince Harry said to Markle:
“I HARRY, take you, MEGHAN, to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward; for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part; according to God’s holy law. In the presence of God I make this vow.”
Kensington Palace announced on Saturday morning that Markle and Prince Harry would officially become the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. “The Queen has today been pleased to confer a Dukedom on Prince Henry of Wales. His titles will be Duke of Sussex, Earl of Dumbarton and Baron Kilkeel,” read the palace statement. “Prince Harry thus becomes His Royal Highness The Duke of Sussex, and Ms. Meghan Markle on marriage will become Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex.”
