Daura (Katsina state) – The senator representing Katsina North Ahmed Babba-Kaita, on Friday gave out N3 million financial assistance to some victims of flood and those with different medical challenges.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the cash donation was presented individually to the beneficiaries in Daura on Friday.
Malam Lawal Shinku, a Legislative Aide to the lawmaker, who presented the cash donation to the beneficiaries said out of the amount, N1 million was given to Malam Mohammed Maibindiga, who was on admission at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.
He added that N1 million was also distributed to 200 patients on admission at the Daura General Hospital.
“We shared between N5,000 and N10,000 to each patient.”
Shinku added that N1 million was shared to 10 victims of recent flood incident in Maibara District in Baure Local Government Area and each of the victims received cash donation of N100,000, as palliative pending delivery of relief from the government.
Alhaji Usman Ado -Oc, Daura Zonal Vice Chairman of the APC, commended the senator for the assistance rendered.
He said Babba Kaita had proved to be a good ambassador of the constituency, stressing that the people would continue to support him to succeed.
Hajiya Habiba Mohammed,whose child was admitted at the Daura General Hospital described the gesture as a huge relief for the patients, while praying that God should reward.
NAN reports that Sen. Ahmed Kaita was recently sworn in as a senator, following his victory at the bye-elections conducted in Katsina North Senatorial District in August, due to the death of Sen. Mustafa Bukar, who was representing the area before his demise.
The Katsina North Senatorial District comprises of Daura, Maiadua, Sandamu, Mashi, Dutsi and Mani Local Government Areas.
Others are Kankiya, Bindawa, Ingawa, Kusada, Baure and Zango. (NAN)
