Temitope, 18, who lives at 26 Odetola St., Iyana-Iyesi, Ota, is facing one-count charge of theft.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Chudu Gbesi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Oct. 14, about 5 a.m. at Olawale Cement Company, Kolab Bus-Stop, Aiyetoro, Ota.
Gbesi said that the accused, who was a truck driver with Olawale Cement Company, stole 85 rims of truck tire worth N470,000 belonging to the company.
He added that “the defendant was caught by the company’s security guard and was handed over to the police.”
He explained that the offence contravened Section 516 of the Criminal Code, Law of Ogun, 2006.
However, Temitope pleaded not guilty to the charge and the Senior Magistrate, Mr G.E. Akan, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Akan said that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment to Ogun Government and adjourned the case until Jan. 9 for further hearing.
